Here is a small selection of F-4N and F-4S aircraft operated by USMC units when the aircraft were retired to MASDC/ AMARC. The F-4N program was a rework of the F-4B aircraft called "Project Bee Line" and a total of 228 F-4B were converted to the F-4N standard. Aircraft selected for conversion were sent to NAS North Island, California, where they were stripped and inspected. They were then completely rebuilt using new parts. The changes included a structural strengthening to extend the fatigue life, plus a complete rewiring. The electrical generating system was upgraded with 30-kVA constant speed alternators.
